Scoop: Infant milk with human milk sugars

UTRECHT, 2038 – The European Food Safety Authority has awarded health claims to a new generation of infant milk. The formula is the first to contain breast milk sugars that are vitally important for creating healthy intestinal flora and a good immune system. The formula was developed during a long-term study by Utrecht University in collaboration with Nutricia. The researchers managed to unravel the effect of certain sugar structures in breast milk by changing their chemical structure slightly so that the binding of the sugars in or on the cell could be made clearly visible.
